Judy Brown began writing almost as soon as she could hold a pencil. She continued to document her life events while attending the University of Kentucky, where she majored in journalism. In addition to her free-lance writing, which resulted in publication in several magazines, Judy has worked as a feature writer for two daily newspapers and as the vice president of marketing for a local bank. Six Legs and a Leash is her first book.

Inspiring. Why? First because a "senior" (70-some-odd) did not shy from a challenge. She went for her dream and worked to make it happen. As a senior, and as one who works in "senior ministry", I find that exciting. We need to help seniors understand they still have a lot to give, a purpose in life! This book shouts that message.Secondly, her children's sermons are wonderful devotions for ANYONE! They each take a Biblical truth and make it very, very real. I read these one day at a time, so that I could really think about the message. It wasn't just reading a book.
I am not a big "dog-lover" -- I like them OK, but do not get all gah-gah over them. But Reggie and Judy make a winsome team that's difficult to resist. I am going to loan my book out to other friends who have a heart for reaching others with therapy dogs.

I really enjoyed this book. The lessons can be applied so well in everyday life to teach your children and grandchildren or anyone. Reggie's owner is so dedicated to helping others. You can see the joy on peoples faces when you read this.
When challenged to find a ministry that would be equivalent to Peter's finding the faith to get out of the boat and walk on water, the author followed a long-standing desire to train a therapy dog. The book chronicles the process, trials, and joys as she and Reggie become a team working in nursing homes, hospitals, and children's ministry. Great source of material for children's sermons.
It's a very inspirational book. The Children's Sermons are for all ages. You'll want all your friends and family to have a copy.

Combine the determination of a lady in her 70s with the challenge of raising a giant snoodle to be a therapy dog and the result is a series of delightful and inspiring tales of their adventures in ministering to others. Stories of visits to nursing homes and hospitals capture moments of laughter, heartbreak, and surprise. In addition to sharing these glimpses into their ministry, the author provides lessons to be used with children to teach Christian values and utilizes the giant snoodle as the focal point and example of the lesson. Meant for children, these lessons easily become daily devotions useful to people of all ages. This book is a joy to read as well as a challenge to anyone who thinks age is a limit to pursuing a new ministry.
